Sydney’s Our Big Kitchen has sent a consignment of food and gifts to Australian troops serving in Afghanistan to commemorate Remembrance Day.

Rabbi Yossi Segelman receives the package from Rabbi Dovid Slavin

Rabbi Dovid Slavin made the presentation to Army Chaplain Rabbi Yossi Segelman in the Bondi-based kitchen.

In an accompanying letter to the chaplain serving with the Australian troops Rabbi Slavin said: “In honour of Remembrance Day, we send this offering – been prepared by volunteers in our communal kitchen – with respect and gratitude to you and to the Australian troops who serve with you in Afghanistan.

I have asked my colleague, Chaplain Rabbi Yossi Segelman, to arrange transfer of these gifts to your men and women in the field.

We are sure that you will have no difficulty in conveying to them the spirit of care and love that our volunteers put into the preparation of these foods.

May you all be bles   sed with safety and success in your missions, wherever they might take you and whatever they might be.”
