The  NSW Liberal Friends of Israel group was launched at NSW Parliament House in Sydney this week.

Premier Barry O’Farrell addresses the new group

The guidelines of the new group were announced last night stipulating that supporters of the Liberal party could join the group without being party members.

Membership will be open to non-Parliamentarians and  the group shares similar goals to the Parliamentary Friends of Israel but is open to all NSW citizens.

Chairman Yaron Finkelstein told J-Wire: “All Liberal State and Federal Members of Parliament from NSW have been asked to join the Liberal Friends of Israel, and be active participants in its programme of events which include intelligence and policy briefings, visiting speaker functions and ongoing Australian/Israeli political exchanges.” He added: ”

“We’re keen to attract members from all across the state, Jewish and non-Jewish. If you want stand up to politically support the State Israel, this is the place to do it.”

With a long-held record in defence of the State of Israel, the Liberal Party is proud to have consistently and actively demonstrated its support for Israel – in Government and in Opposition.

Liberal Party State President Arthur Sinodinos and Mark Neeham will join the LFI’s Advisory Board, which will manage the affairs of the group.

NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell addressed the newly formed group.
