Valiant’s selection for the showcase event is to help  explore further opportunities in fintech  as well as to help build Sydney’s reputation as a leading Asia Pacific innovation hub.

The delegation program was developed by the NSW Government, in collaboration with Austrade and the Tel Aviv Landing Pad. During the visit, Valiant will be based at Israel start-up hub SOSA.
Federal Minister for Industry, Resources and Energy Anthony Roberts, announced the delegation today at NSW Parliament House saying: “NSW is without question Australia’s startup state, with about half of all startups listing the state as their primary place of business and with major strengths in the fintech and cyber-security sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for some of our best and brightest fintech and cyber startups to engage with other global players and to showcase NSW’s capabilities in these sectors.” .
As part of the program, Valiant will access and network with a range of world leaders in innovation; participate in DLD Tel Aviv – the biggest international innovation industry event of the year in Israel; and explore further venture capital and commercialisation partners under a new NSW / Israel innovation agreement.
Co-founders, Alex Molloy and Richard Cotton both expressed excitement for the upcoming program.
Molloy said: “Australia is becoming a hot bed of activity for fintech, and we are happy to share our key learnings and insights with the like minded Israeli tech and investment community. By bringing together the best entrepreneurs and multinationals from our two communities, we aim to forge strong, business relationships.”
Cotton added: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been invited to participate in the Tel Aviv Landing Pad program. Tel Aviv is fast earning its place as a leading global fintech hub and the program provides a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into the impact fintech is having on financial services in other regions. We have been keenly watching the fintech scene in Israel evolve and have no doubt there is a huge amount we can learn there and bring back to the Australian fintech ecosystem.”
As an alumni of Sydney fintech hub, Stone & Chalk and also resident at Mark Bouris’ TMBS Innovation Space in Ultimo, Valiant is well placed to give insights into the NSW fintech ecosystem.
“Australia is becoming a hot bed of activity for fintech, and we are happy to share our key learnings and insights with the like minded Israeli tech and investment community. By bringing together the best entrepreneurs and multinationals from our two communities, we aim to forge strong, business relationships.” commented Molloy.
Other corporate delegates to the program include: Capital Pitch, FlashFX, Meeco, Manner by Riisk, Sail Funding Pty Ltd, Phriendly Phishing by Shearwater Solutions, and Simply Wall St.
The international delegation will leave for Israel on 17th September, 2016.
