Mitzvah Day is a day set aside across the world where communities gather together to perform mitzvot and make positive change in the world.

WHAT IS EMANUEL DOING?
This year we will be focusing our efforts on indigenous children. We will be working with Gunawirra to create care packs for children aged 3-5 as part of their big Ideas Programme which teaches preschoolers about health care, hygiene and nutrition, creating significant improvements to primary health care in Indigenous communities.

WHAT CAN I DO BEFORE MITZVAH DAY?
Before mitzvah day we will be collecting items to create packs. Donate any of the following NEW items. Just bring them to the synagogue and place them in the baskets in the foyer.

For boys and girls aged 3-5
  • washer
  • soap
  • antiseptic cream
  • band aids
  • pocket tissues
  • tooth paste
  • toothbrush
  • underwear
  • socks
  • singlet
WHAT CAN I DO ON MITZVAH DAY?
Come anytime during the morning and help us put all the materials into packs for the children, write a message and meet others in our community as we work together.
