Reports on the Internet claimed that popular supermarket chain Aldi had stopped selling goods produced in Israel settlements. The company has denied that this is the case.

aldiAn Aldi Australia spokesperson has told J-Wire: “On Monday 22 July, an article was published by the Global Jewish News Source reporting that ALDI has stopped selling products from Israeli settlements. It has since been determined that this report contained incorrect information and established that ALDI has not boycotted products from the West Bank, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan.

We at ALDI Australia would like to confirm that although we continue to have a strong commitment to support locally grown and produced products, we do not have any plans to boycott international goods sourced from the West Bank, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan.

As one of Australia’s leading retailers, ALDI Australia takes its corporate responsibility seriously. We are a proud of the strong relationships we have developed and nurtured over the years with our local and international suppliers.”
