2010 heralds Sydney’s first Jewish Music Festival

Shir Madness  will present Sydney’s first ever Jewish music festival at the Bondi Pavilion in September next year.

Organiser Gary Holzman says that the two day gig will feature more than 35 high quality acts performing on four stages simultaneously.

Most styles of music will be on show including classical, jazz, blues, rock, pop, dance, reggae.

The Festival has been designed to highlight the Jewish musical talent within the community that many may not be aware of and to reconnect those who may have become out of touch with their heritage and Jewish identity.

Applications for auditions are available at the Shir Madness web site and will be accepted by the festival up to February 15.

Holzman is aiming to make the Festival a significant annual event in the Sydney Jewish calendar.
