The World Jewish Congress has acquired a security alert system to enable Jewish communities around the world to communicate efficiently and immediately in the event of emergency antisemitic or terror situations.

WJC“The World Jewish Congress is committed to ensuring the security of Jews everywhere, and will not rest until our communities are better prepared and equipped to protect and defend themselves against any and every threat,” said WJC President Ronald S. Lauder.

The technology, developed by the seasoned Israeli firm NowForce, comprises a cloud-based computer aided dispatch, as well as a mobile application for citizens in distress to report incidents as they happen, aimed at enhancing communication, providing full situational awareness, and reducing the response time of local authorities and security forces.

The WJC Global Mobile Alert Application system will enable community members to provide authorities with real-time information, and includes video transmission, automatic navigation, and multi-lateral communications capabilities. The app is sponsored by WJC President Lauder, and is provided at no cost to the communities.

The system has been acquired for a 10-year period, and will gradually be embedded in Jewish communities in Jewish communities around the world, in dozens of languages.

NowForce technologies are already active in more than 700 cities around the world. NowForce CEO Assaf Shafran said: “NowForce is proud to partner with the World Jewish Congress in bringing innovative solutions towards ensuring the safety and welfare of Jewish communities. We look forward to working closely with WJC in implementing a rapid and successful roll-out of the system and to its becoming a key resource for Jewish communities throughout the world.“

A spokesperson for The Executive Council of Australian Jewry told J-Wire: “The system is under consideration.”
