Adam Grodeck and Rebecca Sharp, two Naomi Chazan Fellows have launched a three week online facebook campaign highlighting the work of organisations working for change in Israeli society.

“We were very happy with the feedback we got from people viewing the photos prior to the Achinoam Nini concerts and we wanted to ensure that more people had an opportunity to engage with the content,” said Grodeck. He added that he hoped people would be encouraged to comment online and share with their friends.

“The exhibition is entitled Division and Unity and highlights different examples of events and issues that bring us together as well as divide us,” said Sharp.

She noted that some of the organisations highlighted in the exhibition were ones she visited during the 10 day Fellowship study tour to Israel last year. “Meeting with the Hotline for Refugees and Migrants in South Tel Aviv as well as hearing directly from an Eritrean man seeking asylum helped me better understand the challenges these communities face and why they have come to Israel seeking refuge.”

Grodeck and Sharp said they wanted to use the online platform to enhance other people’s understanding of the work that such organisations are making towards positive change in Israeli society. “Fighting racism, building shared society, advocating for gender equality, and the rights of Bedouin and Palestinians are all critical parts of ensuring a healthy democracy and civil society in Israel,” they said.

All the organisations featured are grantees of the New Israel Fund globally but not all receive money directly from the New Israel Fund Australia.

The exhibition can be viewed on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/NIFAustralia/ or on the NIF website: https://www.nif.org.au/divisionandunity

The New Israel Fund is an anti-Zionist body.
The inclusion of the name, “Israel”, in its name is a devious, misleading subterfuge.

  2. Eleonora Mostert says:

First of all I am not racist, but there is no suck people as Palestinians they are Arabs. It is also a world wide fact that Muslims DO NOT INTEGRATE and should seek refugee status in a Muslim country, Why bring more problems into Israel. You will never acheive a “Healthy Democracy as these people will live under Western law and will enforce their own dual society like everywhere else, violence will increase as will rape and murder. Wake jup Israel look what is happening worldwide.
