Matt Meyerson has been appointed to the important communal role as Head of Security for CSG in NSW.

Some months ago when David Rothman signalled that he would be transitioning out of his role, the Council for Jewish Community Security (NSW) established an Applications Panel of six people (including employment professionals). Headed by CJCS Chairman, Peter Wise, the Panel has been through a rigorous selection process involving a significant number of candidates both from within Australia and from overseas – and throughout the robust process that the Applications Panel undertook, one candidate shone through –

Matt is known well to CSG NSW and the community until now serving as CSG’s Senior Operations Manager overseeing the Protection Portfolio, which includes the oversight, training and readiness of 240 CSG volunteers, protection of our institutions, operations, synagogues and all community events. Matt is one of CSG’s leading instructors and commanders. Matt has earned a reputation in Sydney and amongst other communities as a very capable commander with forward thinking and a strong operational decision-making capacity. Matt has been performing exceptionally well as a leader in the current team, operating as Chief Duty Officer responsible for overseeing the performance of CSG Duty Officers and the operational oversight of CSG NSW in a Crisis. Matt is versatile and has demonstrated thoughtful decision-making capacity across all facets of protection, politics, authorities and intelligence.

In announcing the appointment of Matt Meyerson to the role,  Council for Jewish Community Security (NSW) chairman Peter Wise noted that the Head of Security role carries with it an enormous responsibility. He said that it carries with it all sorts of challenges – some of which are predictable – but some which are not; and in the end, what matters most is that CSG’s mission of protecting life and the Jewish way of life is given the utmost priority. Matt is deemed to be hugely capable of ensuring that there is no degradation of CSG’s core values.

In wishing Matt mazeltov on his appointment, Peter Wise put on record the community’s deep appreciation of the work that the outgoing Head of Security, David Rothman, has done in leading CSG into its current strong position.

Matt takes up the position on 29 November 2018.
