Museum café to be endowed
The Sydney Jewish Museum Café is to be endowed by well-known communal benefactor, Lorand Loblay.

The endowment is in loving memory of his parents Dr. Löblé Lászlo and Löblé Magda, who perished in the Holocaust in 1942. A plaque to this effect has been erected at the entrances to the Museum café`.
Lorand Loblay will attend a special event at the Museum this week at which he will be presented with a special certificate in appreciation of his generous support. He will be joined by family members, Museum board members, Senior Staff and supporters. Mr Loblay said that his donation should “set an example to other well-to-do people to open their wallets a little more widely. He said: “My aim is to further the development of Jewish causes”.
Rob Schneider, Development Director at the Sydney Jewish Museum said that Mr Loblay had set the bar with his generosity to the Museum and a host of other causes. “We are very grateful to him for recognising the importance of the Museum as an education tool, as well as a venue for paying tribute to those who perished in the Holocaust. Mr Loblay has also sponsored a plaque in the Museum’s Sanctum of Remembrance, honouring the memory of his parents and sisters who perished during the Holocaust.”
The Museum Café is a hub for Museum visitors who take advantage of the excellent kosher food and beverages after touring the Museum. is direct access to the café from the permanent exhibition area as well as from the temporary exhibition space and administrative offices.
