A mobile pharmacy van will shortly take to the road to service Israel’s underprivileged communities.

Operated by the Haverim organisation is Israel, the van was donated by Sydney businessman Robert Gavshon in the name of his family to honour his father Willie and  Gavshon’s uncles Maurie and David

The van is the first of its kind in the world. A spokesman for Haverim said that “the results are more than satisfactory and completely tailored to our needs”.
Willie Gavshon and his brothers were highly respected pharmacists in his home city of Johannesburg.
Haverim has been operating since 2003. Their  ‘Free Pharmacy’ supplies over 3,200 people with free medication every month. “People that without our help are forced to choose between food – and meds. These pain killing and life-saving medication is sometimes the difference between life and death for many of them” according to their mission statement.
