This event is specifically for students who have recently celebrated their bar/batmitzvah as well as those who will be doing so in the coming year.

Around 50 kids and their parents and/or grandparents, aunts, uncles are expected to join in to make around 350+ delicious meals for the homeless community as well as for individuals in need of a nutritious meal.

The power of Cook4Good lies not only in cooking together, but in kids and family members delivering the meals they’ve made to a broad range of communities.

This is the pivotal moment of truly understanding the deeper value of how a few hours of cooking can make such a difference to so many. As with all Kids Giving Back volunteering programs it’s a two way street, with the kids and families benefitting from their involvement as much as recipients benefit from the meals.  Sandy has previously participated with her son Marcus. She says “Cook4Good gave us a perspective on the life we lead, an appreciation of what we have and an acknowledgment that things can change quickly and knock you down”.

Kids and teens can also volunteer through Kids Giving Back all year long – opportunities are posted on their Facebook page and you can also sign up for mailings on the website www.kidsgivingback.org.
