Mike Carlton

“I have become aware that Mike Carlton has corresponded with some Herald readers and letter writers using inappropriate and offensive language.

This behaviour is completely unacceptable.

I have asked Mike to apologise for these actions. Mike regrets his behaviour and will be contacting affected readers to apologise.

On behalf of the Herald, I too apologise for any offence caused.

In dealing with our readers, it is a basic principle that our staff, columnists and contributors should always behave with respect and courtesy.”

I did not get any response from Mr. Carlton to a simple question of citizenship. How would Mr. Carlton expect the Australian Government to respond to the threats to its citizens, in circumstances similar to those faced by the Israeli Government?
I have charged Mr. CARLTON, as a result of his non response, to being unwilling to face the truth.

He is also naive if he does not understand the nature of Islam and the threat it imposes to all non muslims.

For the record, Mike Carlton hasn’t apologised.

    He’s resigned.

You owe it to your readers to report the facts accurately

It’s important to note that Mr Goodsir in his ABC radio I/v yesterday referred to challenges in providing balanced coverage of the situation in Gaza. The next question should have been “how does publishing the revolting antisemitic cartoon next to the nasty spray of Mr Carlton constitute balanced coverage?” I believe the buck stops with the editor and Mr Goodsir should also be asked to resign from his responsible position in influencing public sentiment.
