The Victorian Department of Health’s 2013 Public Healthcare Awards recognised Dr Reti’s service to women’s health in the community over the decades.

As an early adaptor in quality and safety in Victorian healthcare, Dr Reti’s work with local, state and national groups and committees is tireless.

His knowledge and compassion has seen him develop and champion some of Victoria’s most successful and well regarded women’s health and wellbeing programs, including being founder of the Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA House).

“Throughout his 40 year career, Les has made an extraordinary contribution to major healthcare reform, promoting women’s health and preventing violence against women. In one way or another, we have all benefitted from his work,” said Bill Appleby, CEO Jewish Care.

Minister for Health, the Hon David Davis MP said of the awards: “The overall reason we have outstanding healthcare in this state is our workforce. By celebrating the outstanding achievements of the finalists and winners, we set a benchmark for what is possible, and what can be achieved when exceptional leadership, professionalism and dedication come together.”

Dr Reti is currently the Clinical Director Quality and Safety and unit head of general gynaecology at The Royal Women’s Hospital, a senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Public Health at La Trobe University.

He has been a Director of Jewish Care Victoria for over 10 years and Chairs the organisation’s Quality & Service Review Board Sub Committee
