Shop Jewish Care offers a large range of gifts for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs,
Jewish holidays and simchas, greeting cards, fridge magnets, napkins, home décor, soaps, jewellery and books.

In addition, the site boasts a large ecard section that allows the user to send an ecard to a loved one while donating to Jewish Care in lieu of a gift.

Bill Appleby, Jewish Care CEO, said that Shop Jewish Care is a convenient place to get the perfect gift for loved ones. “By sourcing products directly from local and overseas suppliers we have been able to offer shoppers a wide range of unique and quality merchandise at extremely affordable prices.”

“However, the best part about shopping online at Shop Jewish Care is knowing that 100% of the profits on every product purchased goes back into helping people in need by funding Jewish Care’s services and programs, ” Appleby said.

Mr Appleby said that this new initiative is not only a new online retail venture for Jewish Care but can evolve into a social enterprise vehicle. Looking ahead, it is hoped that residents, volunteers and clients with a disability will be able to contribute to the daily running of the business in areas such as product development, website administration, order fulfillment, warehousing tasks and other initiatives to boost self-esteem, build skills and improve job-readiness.

“We are already working with Print35, a division of JewishCare NSW, to produce original greeting cards, and with their help we have also designed a unique educational toy cube for kids,” he said.

“Our approach at Jewish Care is to create self-sustaining projects that help people to help themselves – a hand up rather than a hand out.”
