Jewish Care Victoria has launched its 2016 Annual Appeal with this year’s first Major Donor Dinner, held at Jeanne Pratt’s ‘Raheen’ residence in Kew.

Just under 100 guests attended the event marking the start of Jewish Care’s 2016 Annual Appeal campaign.

The appeal hopes to raise $3.6 million for the organisation’s many programs and services that receive little or no government funding.

Christie Whelan Browne and Matthew Franks provided entertainment alongside the 3-course meal.

Jeanne Pratt – a longstanding supporter of Jewish Care, addressed the guests, as well as Mark Joel, Jewish Care’s General Manager – Community.

This was followed by an emotive speech made by one of Jewish Care’s clients – a Jewish mother who has been a victim of domestic violence and who was at risk of homelessness.

Jewish Care has assisted her to overcome these unexpected circumstances .
