Mailman Busy at Our Big Kitchen
Our Big Kitchen has received letters from overseas….praise from the World Jewish Congress for its communal work and thanks from the Australian armed forces in Afghanistan for food packages…The Bondi-based kitchen run by Rabbi Dovid Slavin and Rebecca Jacobs has gained a world-wide reputation for the work it does in utilising a commercial kitchen to benefit members of all communities.
The kitchen often invites schoolchildren to use its facilities as well as celebrities and political and national figures as high profile as the Governor-General. Many of those spend their limited time at the kitchen baking biscuits some of which have found their way to Australian troops serving in Afghanistan.
