The Labor candidate for next week’s Wentworth by-election has praised the federal government’s announcement granting $2.2 million to improve security arrangements for the Jewish community in New South Wales.

Tim Murray told J-Wire: “Labor believes that the safety and security of Jewish schools, community centres and places of worship are above partisan politics. I welcome this grant which is long overdue from the Federal Government.”

“There is more to be done at all levels of government to ensure communal safety, not just ahead of this by-election but into the future, and I welcome the opportunity to work with the Jewish community. “
