Janet Sernack made aliyah two years ago and is joining the ranks of the Israeli start-ups.
Janet reports:

Janet Sernack

In January 2010, I relocated, with my husband and three pets, from very safe and secure Sydney, and migrated to one of the most challenging, and most innovative, ‘hot spots’ on earth; Israel.

Realising that I had unearthed a unique opportunity to re-invent myself and my business, I conducted an intense culture research study to decipher and define, the magic formula that Israel seemed to embody, that balances chaos and order to create disruptive high tech innovation…writes Janet Sernack
My intention was to develop a unique new and replicable Model and Learning System, based on the successful Israeli formula, for coaches, leaders and organisations to support and generate high levels of adaptation, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
I have been the Managing Director of Compass Learning Pty Ltd, for the past eight years, after spending twelve years as a Senior Consultant in Corporate Vision, Australia’s first culture change consultancy.  Compass Learning http;//www.compasslearning.com.au, is a global consulting firm that develops innovative eco-systems, builds leadership capability & improves executive and cross cultural team effectiveness. I am now the Founder and CEO of ImagineNation, a new Israeli Start-Up, based in Zichron Yaakov. ImagineNation  http;//www.imaginenation.co.il is an imaginative, deviant and disruptive global learning consultancy that allows coaches, leaders, and organisations to dance in dis-equilibrium at the edge of chaos. It intends to replicate at an individual, team and corporate level, the successful Israel business eco-system.
ImagineNation generates innovative solutions to flow and flourish with current and likely 21st century challenges by:
-Igniting and harnessing the capacity that creates mindset flips and fresh lines of sight to perceive the world differently.
-Making Innovation everyone’s job, every day to create highly engaged and passionate work environments.
In the past I have designed and delivered learning, change and culture development programs for some of Australasia’s and Israel’s best companies including the National Australia Bank, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac Bank, Macquarie Bank, MLC, Seafolly, Chanel, Oroton, AAPT Telecommunications, Verint Security Systems and HP Sofware.
The Innovate Like an Israeli (ILI) Learning Model and System
One of the most exciting and challenging phases of the Start-Up Cycle is defining your unique offer, and then developing and designing systems and processes to realise it. The development of the Innovate Like an Israeli (ILI) Learning System was instrumental in this. It required me to conceive and generate creative and effective ways of marketing and of designing and delivering my corporate learning programs.  Incorporating the latest technology and thought leading learning and change processes (Theory U) to create three distinct learning streams that include our own customised experiential ‘Start-Up Game’, which teaches people how to Be Innovative Like Israelis;

  1. Coach for Innovators.
  2. The Innovative Leader.
  3. The Innovative Organisation.

Using adult learning principles, within a customised blended learning journey, ImagineNation:

  • Builds the intrinsic motivation for innovation.
  • Aligns people, processes and systems to the organisational eco-system
  • Teaches people how to adopt the mindsets that support and sustain innovative eco-systems.

Translates mindsets into day to day innovative and entrepreneurial behaviours and practices.
The outcome is an eco-system that fosters experimentation, passion, courage and flow to enable participants, coaches, consultants, their clients and their businesses to:

  • Unleash passionate creativity and entrepreneurial zeal.
  • Flow with uncertainty and instability.
  • Generate imaginative and unconventional solutions and responses to challenges, problems, improbable and unexpected events.
  • Change their game and build something memorable.

Janet will be visiting Sydney and Melbourne from the 26th June until 13th July, to meet with current Compass Learning and new ImagineNation clients. She invites you to learn more about the benefits of her cutting edge approach to Being Innovative and Entrepreneurial.  To learn more about her imaginative and seriously challenging, Israeli custom designed and developed ‘Start-Up Game’, and her global delivery and consulting team.
