Key figure at Guangdong Technion, first Israeli University in China, to speak in Sydney
Technion Australia will host Professor Paul Feigin, Vice-President for Strategic Affairs at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology visiting Sydney next week to speak about Technion’s new campus in Guangdong, China.

Prof. Feigin, a native of Melbourne, joined the Faculty of Technion in 1976 and has been instrumental in the development of the Guangdong Technion Israel Institute of Technology (Guangdong Technion), Shantou, China. Guangdong Technion was founded in partnership with Shantou University and the support of the Li Ka Shing Foundation, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and Shantou Municipal Government. The campus was officially opened on December 18, 2017.
According to Technion President Peretz Lavie, “The combination of the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Israel and the unbelievable scale and resources of China will result in a great partnership that will help not only China and Israel, but also mankind in general”.
Australian students can study at Guangdong Technion (in English) and receive their qualifications from Technion so it represents an exciting opportunity for students interested in engineering, computer science, life sciences and joint Israeli-Chinese research studies. Prof. Feigin will be speaking about the opportunities at Guangdong Technion for Australian students and academics, as well as the challenges of blending the Israeli entrepreneurial spirit with Chinese culture and educational traditions. He will be speaking at a public event on the North Shore on the evening of Wednesday 7 February and a CBD Business Breakfast on Thursday 8 February.
