Kesser Torah students shine in inter-school debating
The KTC High School Interschool debating was held at Sydney’s Masada College.

Kesser Torah College sent along four very strong teams of Boys and Girls Junior (Years 7 & 8) and Boys and Girls Senior (Years 9 & 10) accompanied by Mrs Gersha Shteyman and Mr Dan Lowinger. The day was very long, hectic, challenging and fun as our students had to prepare and argue a minimum of three debates for each team. All our teams did an amazing job.
Our Junior boys (Gedalya Lederman, Dovy Meyer, Aaron Kastel, Moishe Amzalak and Eli Lowinger) debated three debates – they won one debate against Moriah College. They tied going into the final and then the final was decided by the adjudicators to be between Emmanuel and Masada which Masada won.
Our Senior Boys (Mikey Kaplan, Shui Smith, Yossi Gutnick and Yossi Sebban) debated three debates – they won one debate against Moriah College.
Our Junior girls (Liora Ensly, Hannah Ensly, Rachel Fuchs, Miriam Charak and Rivka Koncepolski) won all their three debates against Moriah College, Emmanuel School and Masada College. The Junior Girls then went on to the final against Moriah College which they won the debate and trophy in.
Our Senior girls (Bassie Leider, Elisheva Zeff, Sarah Charak, Rivky Perlow, Chanale Gourarie and Chana Corna)debated three debates – they won one debate against Moriah College. They tied going into the final and then the final was decided by the adjudicators to be between Emmanuel and Masada which Masada won.
We are very proud of the effort and achievement of our students who can’t wait to return next year (this time at Moriah College) to bring the challenge on again!
