“We are really proud of our class of 2013,” said Principal Rabbi Dr Noteh Glogauer. “ KTC prides itself on extending our advanced students whilst at the same time, nurturing and supporting those students who may balk at the challenges and stresses of HSC in a larger learning environment.”

KTC’s cohort this year was significantly smaller than in 2012, when students from both the Boys and Girls High Schools sat the examinations.

“We are able to extend our HSC program to cater for all our students, and to provide each student with the opportunity to reach his or her individual goals,” said Rabbi Glogauer. “KTC is committed to preparing our students for whatever path or career they choose to follow in the future.

KTC students achieved impressive results in the mandatory subject of English, with 100% of its students attaining in the top three bands. This is impressive when compared with the State cohort, where 34% achieved in these bands for English Standard, and 83% for English Advanced. KTC Maths students also performed well, with 100% of students achieving in the top two bands for General Maths, the State statistic for this subject being 21% in Bands 5 & 6. “Other strong subjects this year have been Visual Arts and History Extension, where 60% have achieved in the top two bands.”

KTC students continue to excel in the Modern and Classical Hebrew subjects, reflecting the strong emphasis on the Jewish Studies curriculum.

KTC will have both boys and girls sitting the HSC in 2014. The College is looking forward to announcing some exciting staff developments for the forthcoming year, that are anticipated will enhance and strengthen the programs in both Boys and Girls High Schools.

“Our teaching faculty is extremely dedicated to the development of the whole student, and we are fortunate that our small class sizes allow us to assist our students to realise their full potential,” said Rabbi Glogauer.
