The aim of this course is to teach the participants about the geography and the history of the Land of Israel.

Participants will also learn about major archaeological sites and other places of interest, including material that is often only taught to Israeli tour guides.

The first session was an introduction to the geography of the Middle East, the regions of Israel and the differences between them. The participants also learnt also about the history of archaeology in Israel and some of the sources that will be used.

Michael Goldberg, the President of Mizrachi, highlighted the importance of this course in building an understanding of Israel’s foundations leading up till today. This week the participants will start to follow the footsteps of the  Patriarchs and key historical sites that are mentioned in the Book of Genesis.

The course will run every Wednesday for 10 weeks, finishing on May 16th.
