Melbourne’s Jewish Care has run a competition to name its new mascot.

Congratulations to Noa Baker, 15, pictured above with runner up Ellie Israel, 5, for naming Jewish Care’s fun new mascot Tzeddy.

It wasn’t an easy decision with so many creative competition entries, demonstrating how giving tzedakah is such an important part of our children’s lives. Both Noa and Ellie received a certificate of appreciation and prize of movie tickets to the Classic Cinema in Elsternwick.

Tzeddy is Jewish Care’s friendly face to raise awareness and teach kids the importance of giving. Tzeddy will visit schools, community events, festivals and Jewish Care functions handing out tzedakah boxes to children and members of our community to help support Jewish Care’s services.

We know this friendly fellow will delight children and adults alike while delivering an important message – you’re never too young to make a difference.

To book Tzeddy at your next school or community event, contact
