The three-year arrangement is mutually beneficial for both organisations. CSG requires secure and predictable funding arrangements to better manage its resources, and Jewish Care requires the ongoing assistance from CSG to keep its clients and other stakeholders safe in its services.

CSG and Jewish Care will put in place certain functions to ensure a strengthened relationship and understanding of Jewish Care’s operational and strategic needs. CSG will continue to provide much valued services and support to Jewish Care including training, security consultation, security presence at key events and a critical incident response.

Jewish Care CEO, Bill Appleby said: “We are delighted to continue a strong working relationship with the Community Security Group. In these uncertain times, the Melbourne Jewish community is extremely fortunate to have CSG’s assistance in providing a safe environment at our venues and events. As a largely volunteer-based organisation that plays a vital role in keeping the Victorian Jewish community safe, CSG needs our community’s support.”

“The families of all who use a Jewish Care facility should be pleased to know that security is always on the agenda. This MOU highlights Jewish Care’s commitment to providing a safe environment for all, and reinforces CSG’s support in helping them achieve it,” CSG CEO Ricky Pearl said.

Mr Appleby added: “For the women and men volunteering at CSG, it can often be a thankless task. The next time you enjoy the safety CSG provides at your synagogue, school, or an event you are attending, I would encourage you to take a moment to personally thank them for their service.”
