An app for the popular iPhone which establishes whether celebrities are Jewish or nor has been withdrawn from sale in France…but is still available in Australia.

The app

An anti-Racism French group complained that the app gave our religious details of famous individuals without their consent.

The app developer, Johan Levy, told Le Parisien paper: “In our community we often ask whether such and such celebrity is Jewish or not. The app is only intended for fun”.

Levy made it clear that for every Jew listed in any category there are many more “equally-talented non-Jews”.

Levy holds dual French and U.K. citizenship.
