The program includes visits to the Lamm Library, Caulfield Shule and the Jewish Holocaust Centre.

The program included great presentations on a wide range of issues, including the demographic profile of the Jewish community, Jewish festivals and religious traditions, Shabbat, community diversity, Israel and Zionism, security matters and the special needs of our community.

David Marlow stated, “More than half the Jews of Victoria live in the City of Glen Eira, so this is a particularly important activity for the JCCV.  This is the third program of its kind we have run for the council in the past twelve months, and we plan to hold another one later this year.”

“It is vital that our key service providers better understand the profile, diversity and needs of the Jewish community.  This is a significant part of the role of the JCCV, and we also run these Jewish immersion days for politicians, government advisors, councillors, hospital staff and pastoral carers, and leaders from other faith and cultural communities.”
