Fairfax has introduced Jewish Junction to its vastly popular R.S.V.P. dating web site…no great leap in name from the already existing J-Junction.junction70rsvp-logoThe new community has been established by Fairfax “to allow singles who value their Jewish faith to interact with and meet others who share the same values.”

The web site has launched 33 separate communities to date and has attracted a total membership of over 212,000 singles. Together with the mainstream site, R.S.V.P. now has a total membership of 1.5 million members with access to blogs, photo galleries and video content.

Rabbi Mendel Kastel has already in place J-Junction, a national organisation associated with Sydney’s Jewish House. He told J-Wire: “We are a match-making service and do not offer internet dating. We give personal attention to each client and place high value in protecting privacy and confidentiality. We also check all information given to make sure it is accurate before bringing people together.”

Rabbi Kastel told J-Wire: “I am not worried about the competition but the name is a little too close for comfort.”

A spokesperson told J-Wire that they had not been aware of J-Junction.

The General Manager of R.S.V.P., Hannah Schwarz – yes, she is Jewish – said: “R.S.V.P. communites offer singles a new and exciting way to find each other.”

Just launched, the site has already attracted more than 100 members.

J-Junction has over 1000 members and can justifiably claim responsibility for three marriages.

Sounds more than a coincidence to me, but then isn’t there a saying – “Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery.”

If Hannah Schwarz is single, I’m sure she would have more luck and a better experience finding a partner on J-junction than on RSVP.

The difference between what the 2 services have to offer is chalk and cheese. Its like comparing a Nissan to a Ferrari.
