A 58-yr-old Israeli woman has been killed in a horror head-on car accident in the Northern Territory. The woman was a passenger in a car driven by a 70-yr-old male friend also from Israel. The tourists’ car was involved in a two car accident in which an Israeli consular official has told J-Wire both cars were believed to have been traveling at around 100 kmh.

The male male driver remains critically ill in Royal Darwin Hospital.

The accident happened last Sunday afternoon at Howard Springs, 35km south of Darwin. The Israelis were in a Toyota Camry which collided with Toyota Prado at a bend in the road.

Police believe both vehicles swerved to avoid the accident…but they swerved in the same direction causing the head-on.

The injured man’s son and daughter have arrived from Israel and are at their father’s bedside. The 27-yr-old Prado driver has been released from hospital.

Names will not be released until Israeli consular officials are satisfied that next of kin have been informed.
