IDF soldiers have given emergency medical treatment to a young Arab woman who was injured in a car accident in the Jordan Valley.

IDF Medics Treat Injured Arab Woman.

After a Palestinian Authority (PA) resident hit the young woman, soldiers rushed to the scene, gave her initial treatment and evacuated her by helicopter to the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem for further medical treatment.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit published a statement in Arabic about the incident, wishing the injured woman a speedy recovery and urging the residents to “drive carefully and stay safe.”

Israeli troops and emergency medical services regularly treat Arab victims.

IDF medical teams and civilian emergency units from communities across Judea and Samaria frequently treat local Arab residents after car accidents or in other instances where emergency medical treatment is required.

In July 2015, the IDF established a new reserves unit dedicated to providing medical care and humanitarian assistance to the Arab population.

The reserves company is staffed with doctors, medics, and nurses trained by the IDF to provide effective medical care in a wide variety of emergency situations.

The company also works closely with the PA’s medical institutions to help develop their medical infrastructure,  improving local emergency response capabilities
