Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital has removed all Christian insignia from its chapel. The prayer room is now devoid of any religious icons although they have been carefully stored at the hospital to be used when appropriate.
A hospital spokesperson told media that the move was made to respect the many faiths who may have need of the chapel, including staff, patients and visitors.
They said that it was in line with contemporary Australia.
