Ronald S. Lauder, the president of the World Jewish Congress (WJC), has condemned a call by a group of American actors led by Danny Glover for an all-out cultural boycott of Israel.

Earlier this week, Glover and other actors starring in ‘American Revolutionary’ urged the cancellation of a planned screening of the movie in Tel Aviv. “It is time for Hollywood – actors, producers, and others – to speak out against those within its own ranks who demonize Israel and thus fan the flames of anti-Semitism in America and beyond,” Lauder said.

“Danny Glover supported a boycott of Israel in 2009, and it therefore comes as no surprise that he does not wish the movie to be screened in Israel. We call on  America’s film industry to speak out against the growing campaign to boycott the Jewish state. Just like anti-Semitism, unfair criticism of Israel should be condemned.

“It is time that those in Hollywood who stand with Israel come forward and speak out against the calls to boycott the only democratic state in the Middle East,” the WJC president declared.

The majority of Hollywood Jews should hang their heads in shame considering how many Jews there are in the Entertainment industry in Hollywood.

Apart from a hand full of Jews , Jackie Mason, Gene Simmons [ Kiss] , Scarlett Johansson come to mind I cant think of any other high profile Jews in the entertainment industry to publicly stand up for Israel.

Considering we Jews are accused of controlling everything including Hollywood Jews should be controlling the Israeli- Pal propaganda war in the US .

I fear history repeating itself when Europeans Jews needed American help .It is very disappointing that there appears to be no shortage of anti- Zionist Jews .

I wonder how much of the technology, like computer chips, in the cameras used to make Danny Glover’s movies, comes from Israel.

    He should boycott the cameras.
