Finger will formally welcome Lance Rosenberg as incoming Federal President at the UIA Federal AGM on 21 November, as he steps down from his current role as UIA NSW President after six years.  He will also welcome Esther Frenkiel as Federal Vice President.

Joining UIA in 1978 as a Young Leadership volunteer, Sydney-based Finger has been involved in 40 annual Campaigns during his time as a pivotal member of the organisation. He also served as UIA NSW President for five years, UIA NSW Chairman, UIA NSW Campaign Chairman and Young Leadership Chairman. Finger received UIA NSW Life Presidency in 2008.

Additionally, Finger has received numerous awards over the years, including the esteemed Yakir Keren Hayesod Award – presented to leaders of Keren Hayesod-United Israel Appeal in recognition of their commitment and volunteerism for the organisation, Louis Klein Award – for outstanding leadership on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people; and the Yom Ha’Askan Award for outstanding efforts.

He was recently invited to join the World Executive of Keren Hayesod-UIA. “I am humbled to have been invited to join the KH-UIA World Executive and look forward to contributing to the continued ongoing success of the KH-UIA world,” Finger said.

“I am proud to pass on the Federal Presidency to Lance, given I have known and worked with him for decades. Lance works tirelessly for Israel, and is a problem solver and dedicated Zionist.”

UIA NSW President Lance Rosenberg said: “Harold leaves this prestigious post with very big shoes to fill. However, it’s a deliberate strategy of mine to follow in his footsteps. This position is guaranteed to be in great shape, well-managed and brimming with passion, enthusiasm and creative energy.”

“Harold’s service to the UIA and the People of Israel for the last 40 years is simply inspirational. He still brings an overwhelming enthusiasm to each and every task he undertakes and is certainly a role model for any younger lay leaders in our community. His understated manner and ability to look at things objectively have certainly ensured he always puts the cause first,” UIA CEO Yair Miller said.
