With more than 2000 members having renewed their membership, Sydney’s Hakoah Club will continue to function…out-sourcing venues when necessary.

Club president Phil Filler told J-Wire: “The challenge is still there. The fact that over 2,000 members renewed their memberships notwithstanding that we have yet to advise of our next home sends a loud and clear message that there is a desire from the members for an ongoing clubhouse. The Board has recognised this goodwill and have resolved to extend everyone existing membership at no charge for a 12 month period.

As an interim measure we will be conducting events at various venues and these will be anounced through newletters to be sent to members by email. Members have been encouraged to provide us with an appropriate email address so that they can continue to be communicated with. Hakoah will continue to maintain a physical office in the front shop of the Hall Street premises, so that those not on email can collect the newsletter on Friday afternoons. I would like to remind those who aren’t on the email database that they should drop us an email at myclub@hakoah.com.au so as to be placed on the distribution listing.”

Hakoah is manitaining its search for suitable new premises. FIller said that the directors would rather take their time than compromise the Club’s needs. He added: “The Directors will not be rushed into acquiring premises that may diminish the capital base that has been expertly protected up until now.”
