Postal and declaration voting continues, only about 6,000 of 11,500 Postal Votes have been counted but on the current trends I will be returned as the Member for Melbourne Ports,” Michael Danby said today of his likely re-election.

There are still 15,000 Postal Votes, Absentee & Declaration votes to be opened. “At Postal Voting, The Greens are scoring about 14-16% of different batches of postal votes, well below their vote on election day.” Danby said.

“My scrutineers say that there is no likelihood of them overtaking me”, Mr Danby said. “Indeed, as they fall further behind, they will eventually be eliminated (and as in all other seats), their preferences will come strongly to Labor, that is to me. (At the last election, for instance, when I placed the Green Party next to last, subsequently attracted 87% of their preferences). “ I expect the same pattern,” Mr Danby said,” as many Green Party voters appreciate my stances on animal welfare, support for public transport, and opposition to the unpopular Grand Prix”

My gratitude to all those who understood the challenge, and gave me their support. Thankfully, I received enough primary votes to outpoll the Green Political Party, but this was the ugliest campaign I have ever faced. We are back in the office at Fitzroy Street and working for the community.

Danby only scrapped in this election

Micro party preferences still worry me.
Added together if voting as a progressive block, they are in a very similar numerical standing with michael Danby.

Please someone in the know, relieve my worries.

The Greens are to be abhorred by their racist antisemitic public stance.

The lie to their open house to multiculturism is evident in the hyphened Green’s blowin ex UN actions.

When it comes to Jews and Israel, the Greens are to be condemned as racists.

I live 300m from the F1-GP track and while I am not a “rev head” I do enjoy the event including the RAAF airshow.

Both the Liberal and Labor Party support the event and a few local red MP’s are out of step with the majority of votes as 75% plus vote for the the policies of the two major parties in the local area around Albert Park Reserve were the F1-GP is held.

If Danby is opposed to the F1-GP as a federal MHR why has he not had the RAAF airshow stopped when the ALP is in government in Canberra?

Despite reports by some groups businesses not only do well during the 4 day event but for weeks before and after when the set up and take down workmen visit local shops for meals and other consumables. Some shops in Middle Park say that the January-March period is the best trading period all year; Summer helps too.
