Prime Minister told ABC radio yesterday that she refures claims that she is soft on Israel.

Speaking on John Faine’s program, Prime Minister Gillard was dealing with a letter written by Ross Burns, a former Australian ambassador to Israel, published in the Sydney Morning Herald accusing the Prime Minister of being soft on Israel.

In the letter, Burns questioned the employment of Gillard’s partner, Tim Mathieson. He is currently working as a real estate salesman by a company controlled by Albert Dadon, founder of the Australia Israel Forum and the Australia Israel Cultural Exchange.

Burns’s letter stated there was an unavoidable link between Prime Minister Gillard’s connection to Dadon’s Forum and Mathieson’s employment.

Gillard told ABC’s John Faine: “I’ve seen the letter to the newspaper…. that’s not right. I’ve made up my own views about Israel and made them known publicly well before there was any suggestion that my partner would work in a property group associated with Mr Dadon.”
