A Sydney hotel has been recognised as the best events venue in NSW…and says its Kosher kitchen has played a contributing role.

The InterContinental Sydney Double Bay won the coveted Function Venue of the Year award at last night’s Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA) NSW Awards for Excellence.

In its first year of operations, the prestigious hospitality and tourism accolade recognises the hotel’s excellence as a function venue, taking facilities, cuisine, staff training, sustainability practices and track record of successful events into consideration.

InterContinental Sydney Double Bay’s General Manager Paul Walters was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of the hotel team.

“We are very proud to see InterContinental Sydney Double Bay recognised as the leading events venue in Sydney and across the State,” he said.

“We pride ourselves on providing a unique offering for functions and events, with a dozen versatile spaces in our new luxury hotel, a beautiful bayside location, best-in-class cuisine and superb tailored service from our passionate and committed hotel team.”

InterContinental Sydney Double Bay was also awarded Highly Commended in the Bar of the Year category for its Stillery cocktail bar and lounge, and a finalist in the prestigious Sydney Deluxe Hotel of the Year category.

The only five-star hotel outside the CBD, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay opened in November 2014 as a stylish bayside retreat in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

The hotel schedules regular Kosher dinners in its Stockroom restaurant bookable in advance.

The boutique 140-room hotel pairs understated European elegance with contemporary furnishings, with a range of events spaces offering the latest technology, AV and security facilities, just 200m from the beach and 14km from Sydney International Airport.

Highlights include the stunning Rooftop Pool & Lounge overlooking the bay, Stockroom restaurant and grill, Stillery bar and lounge, a French provincial-style Courtyard and Club InterContinental lounge, with luxury Trumps Spa and 24-hour Snap Fitness gym on its ground floor arcade.
