Luciano Pavarotti is dead and Andre Bocelli and Sarah Brightman are not in town. Even if they were, you probably couldn’t afford the tickets.

At 3pm Sunday 12 July at the Kadimah, the Jewish Cultural Centre and National Library in Elsternwick, you can treat yourself to singers who will dazzle and enthrall as much as these big international stars, for a fraction of the price.

The rich and powerful tenor voice of Shimon Walles is at home with the great Italian arias and all styles of Jewish music.

Katrina Noela is often compared to Marina Prior, with a repertoire ranging across opera, musical theatre and sultry jazz.

Since arriving in Melbourne from Israel, five years ago, Vered Harel has performed as a soloist and fronts the Latin-flavoured band Veod.

To round out an outstanding concert the amazingly versatile and talented Galit Klas will entertain in Hebrew, Yiddish and French.

The Kadimah In Friendship Concerts have always been especially popular with the Russian speaking community.

The In Friendship Concert is produced by master musician Grisha Cveygoren and will be compered by Joe Tigel, recent star of My Name is Asher Lev.
