The 11-yr-old Bondi girl remains with the police as the investigation into her disappearance continues.

Police hadve issued the following statement: “Michelle Levy has been found at a home unit in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Detectives from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command verified the child’s identity a short time ago.

She was found about 10.30am today (Monday 27 October 2014), in a unit in Mulwarree Avenue, Randwick.

Initial inquiries indicate Michelle is safe and has been re-united with her family.

Police, volunteers and members of the local community have been searching for her since she was reported missing on Saturday night (25 October 2014).

Police thank everyone who assisted in the search for Michelle.”

J-Wire understands from community leaders that Michelle’s whereabouts were discovered by a member of the Jewish community. Over 1,000 gathered outside Jewish House in Bondi last night to continue the search for the child.

Hatzalah’s Rabbi Yehuda Niasoff was implemental in organising search activities since Michelle went missing on Saturday afternoon. He told J-Wire: “It’s a great relief. I t was incredible to see the community rush to help literally as soon as the word got out. It’s incredible to see the power of modern media and how it produced an army of volunteers which searched from Watsons Bay to Darling Harbour and the beaches. Their willingness to help and the care that they showed shows me that we are blessed to have community like this. I also want to thank the State Emergency Services and the NSW Police for the fantastic efforts they made.”

NSW Police chaplain Rabbi Mendel Kastel said: “This has been a highly emotional experience. I have a child of a similar age and I now bursting with joy that she has been found. Once again my thanks to all the organisations involved in the search.”

The Daily Telegraph reports that Michelle spent two days with a man in a unit Randwick and that the man had contacted a woman who called Michelle’s mother Anne. J-Wire understands that police went directly to Randwick where Michelle was reunited with her parents for a short time before being taken to police HQ to assist in an ongoing investigation.

Michelle’s mother Anne posted on Facebook: “I would also like to say a big, big thankyou to everyone who has helped look for Michelle and for all the support that you have offered to Adam and myself. The community effort was staggering. I was amazed by the number of people who have come together to help look for Michelle. It brought tears to my eyes thinking of all time given up by friends and strangers. The police effort was also fabulous, so much bigger than I expected
Thank you so much.”

A spokesperson for NSW police told J-Wire that the investigation into Michelle’s disappearance continues.
