Former Mossad Chief and US Ambassador to Israel in Australia for JNF Campaign
The former Director of Mossad, Tamir Pardo will be in Australia this September for JNF Australia’s Annual Campaign joined by the former US Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro.

Tamir Pardo finished his term last year and Dan Shapiro completed his term at the inauguration of President Trump in January.
It will be the first visit to Australia for both men, who will bring their unique, insider perspectives on a tumultuous period that saw the proliferation of Middle Eastern conflicts and broader regional threats, including the Iran nuclear issue and tensions between Israel and the US Administration.

Prior to joining Mossad in 1979, Pardo was a member of the IDF’s elite Sayeret Matkal unit and served under Yoni Netanyahu in the Entebbe rescue operation. He served through all levels of Mossad before assuming overall leadership of the organisation, serving as Director from January 2011 until 2016.

Pardo’s term as Mossad Director was characterised by a significant expansion in intelligence and operational cooperation with foreign countries, including with countries that do not have diplomatic relations with Israel. Under his watch the Mossad received five Israel Security Awards for daring and ground-breaking operations and reinforced its international reputation amongst world leaders.
