This year’s event, to be held at Monash University’s Caulfield Campus from June 7-9 will feature 15 speakers from overseas together with many of Australia’s leading Jewish educators, writers and activists.

Among the featured overseas guests at Limmud Oz will be outspoken American Jewish journalist Peter Beinart, whose criticism of the current state of Zionism has divided opinions in Jewish communities around the world.

Deborah Dwork will coming to Australia for the first time and is regarded as an outstanding Holocaust scholar and teacher.

Former head of Habonim South Africa Wayne Sussman will talk about the state of South African Jewry.

Limmud Oz co-chairperson Annette Charak said there is “something for everyone” in this year’s program.

“As always, Limmud Oz will feature Israel, Yiddish, texts and politics, but we have worked really hard to feature more diverse content including more performances and music than ever before,” she said.

Once again, pricing for Limmud Oz provides incredible value. Prices have not been increased since 2010 and there is a huge range of ticketing options to suit all members of the community.

The choice of Peter Beinart is only consistent with the other unpalatable , Sydney Limud event, when some head of NIF, Naomi something, was given a platform used to offend and insult Zionism. I only hope that the Melbourne audience will react to Beinart’s pro-BDS rants the same way I got stuck into Ms Chazan back then in Sydney !!
