F.R.E.E. Soup Kitchen Launched
Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe (F.R.E.E.) have launched a mobile soup kitchen in Sydney.

The mobile soup kitchen travels to low income areas of N.S.W. to deliver hot soup and fresh bagels to the elderly and the needy. Hundreds of people have already been recipients of this wonderful mitzvah. With open hands and smiling faces people from all backgrounds have been on the receiving end of the FREE soup kitchen, much to the satisfaction of its manager, Shmully Ulman.
FSK’s facebook and Twitter pages attracted more than a hundred followers soon after its launch last week.
At F.R.E.E.’s recent gala dinner the attendees were given 30 seconds to pull out their smart phones, to LIKE and FOLLOW F.R.E.E. on social media. Amongst those that did, FREE was proud to have its special guests, the Hon. Ron Hoenig, newly elected MP for Heffron, the Hon. Walt Secord MLC, and Councillor Leon Goldsman, follow us on twitter and facebook during the evening.
Rabbi Ulman, Dayan and spiritual leader of FREE, noted that “the inspiration for the Soup Kitchen comes from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who had said that, as no-one lives in a vacuum, it is incumbent on Jewish communities to be fully involved with all groups and religions in society through acts of goodness and kindness. Starting its Soup Kitchen is typical of FREE’s philosophy of helping all in need, whether in spiritual, social or material matters.”
“F.R.E.E. Soup Kitchen is our way to repay Australia for having provided all the needs of our parents that came empty handed from the Soviet Union to Sydney” says Shmully.
