Jul-31 Sydney: Shir Madness shutoff date for applications
Entries for the second annual Shir Madness Festival of Jewish Music set for March 2012 will be closing on the 31st July. The debut of the festival was a spectacular success with big names drawing huge crowds to five stages over 12 hours at Bondi Beach last August.
Hoping you can help spread the word!
Performers wishing to apply can download the application form on the website www.shirmadness.com.
Festival Artistic Director and Festival Manager Nicola Ossher says:
“We received over 90 applications last year when the festival was a complete unknown so we’re expecting an even greater response this time!
“The aim of the festival is to present a diverse cross-section of Jewish music and music performed by Jews to both the Jewish and wider community. We are calling out to all bands, solo acts, choirs and orchestras. Whether it’s jazz, blues, hip hop, classical, rock, pop, folk, reggae, Klezmer, Ladino, Traditional, Yiddish, Israeli or Sephardi music – we want your act!”
Nicola was the 2010 Artistic Director and this year is undertaking both Artistic Director and Festival Manager. The Festival Manager is a new role, which she’s very excited to take on!
Shir Madness – a music festival restricted to Jewish musicians who play any type of music and to all musicians who play Jewish music.
