ECAJ president says “Vote No”graffiti shows antisemitic and homophobia bigotry
Hate graffiti, including swastikas, has appeared on a Sydney train and Brisbane homes.

All instances are connected to the current ABS survey on same-sex marriage. Homophobic slurs, such as “VOTE NO TO FAGS,” and swastikas were sprayed on a train on the City Circle line in Sydney; while in inner city Brisbane, swastikas were sprayed onto a rainbow flag and a front gate of at least two homes over the weekend.
“Over the last 12 months, there has been a proliferation of neo-Nazi posters, stickers and graffiti on university campuses across Australia and on the streets,” Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) President Anton Block said.
“These latest incidents should be seen as a part of that overall spike.”

“The perpetrators are opportunistically seeking to exploit the emotions around the same sex marriage survey in order to promote their bigotry in the form of antisemitism and homophobia, and to create fear in the community.”
“I believe most Australians are fair-minded and will react to these incidents with revulsion, the opposite of what the perpetrators intend.”
Bigotry against the swastikas, homosexuals, neonazi-posters, antisemitism, homophobia or the fear it’s creating.
Oops… didn’t God say it, homosexual activities, are an abomination in His eyes among other things???
Love the person hate the sin, it is against nature. By all means let these people have a civil ceremony but leave marriage alone as it IS ordained by GOD. Oh another ooops. the laws are already changing, Victoria has set the pace for schools already and parents have no say regarding their children or the sex education they receive.
Good to see the ECAJ speaking out against this bigotry.
