Managers and staff engaged in enterprises based on traditional business models are finding it increasingly difficult to make decision likely to protect them from market disruption according to internationally respected decision-making expert, Gary Klein.

The author of books such as Seeing What Others Don’t and The Power of Intuition, Klein is a research psychologist who pioneered naturalistic decision-making.

He now assists corporations and government agencies to improve their decision-making ability and rapid tacit knowledge transfer to staff using a method known as ShadowBox.

“We are entering a world of increasing and accelerated disruption of markets and business models,” Klein says. “Pitted against new technologies, established knowledge and proven ways of making decisions are less and less reliable.”

“While we live in an age of data abundance, which promises more informed decisions than ever, most decision makers find it harder than ever to make decisions and thus to navigate an ever challenging business environment.”

As a result, Klein says that two of the biggest challenges facing modern organisations is the need for the rapid creation of new insights and to accelerate professional development and knowledge transfer within the business in order to stay on top of change.

Gary A Klein will share his insight with interested Australian audiences for the first time when he conducts a DISRUPT Masterclass on 25thMay in Sydney hosted by the University of Sydney Business School and in Melbourne on 23rd May.
