As his players spend Saturday finalising preparations for the AFL preliminary finals, the Western Bulldogs president will be davening in Shul hopeful for a victory.

David Smorgon

The Dogs’ president David Smorgon told J-Wire: “I will be spending Yom Kippur davening in Caulfield Shul before going to the game on Saturday night.”

For Smorgon, this will be the third year in a row his beloved Dogs have made it to the AFL preliminary finals…but they have not made a Grand Final since 1961 and it has been 56 long years since the Dogs last took out the championship in 1954.

This Saturday, President and players will be calling on all possible resources, physical and spiritual, for a victory against St Kilda at the MCC on Saturday night…and a ticket to the Grand Final.
