A Melbourne tribunal has heard how a Victorian lawyer rebuked the victim of a child sexual abuse assault for helping police.

David Cyprys is currently serving a prison sentence for abusing the victim. Cyprus’s lawyer Alex Lewenberg has appeared before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal at which the Legal Services Commissioner is seeking to find Lewenberg guilty of

misconduct for “disgraceful and dishonourable” comments according to a report in  The Australian newspaper.

The tribunal heard that there was no room in secular society in the 21st century for a special set of rules for Jews. Lewenberg admitted admonishing the victim.
