Mental illness now affects one in five Australians, meaning over a million people suffer from a form of mental health issue, most commonly depression and anxiety.  Yet many sufferers still experience stigma and lack access to treatment.

With these shocking facts in mind,The Rabbi of the City of Sydney, Rabbi Danny Yaffe together with his wife Rebbetzin Sara-Tova, is excited to now launch ‘Challenge the Black Dog’, to be held on Sunday, 9 July.  The evening will feature addresses by The Hon. Scott Farlow MLC, the Chair of the Parliamentary Friends for Mental Health, and City of Sydney Councillor Jess Miller. Mental health practitioners who will speak include anxiety expert and exercise physiologist Dr Jarrod Meerkin PhD and esteemed clinical psychologist Renee Mills, as well as representatives from the respected charities, the Black Dog Institute and Our Big Kitchen.

CBDChabad serves the Jewish community in and around the city of Sydney
