Our Big Kitchen’s Laya Slavin was recognized as ‘Bondi Humanitarian of the Year’ from a field of very accomplished women.

The award was for the work Laya does in OBK feeding the needy and visiting the sick in addition to being the heart and soul of all that happens in OBK

The Bucket list was bustling with people on Friday night for the international women’s day event the Slavin family took a detour on the way to Shul to say hello to the other contestants but had to leave early to welcome Shabbat.

When Laya Slavin was announced as the winner – it was Mary-Lou Jarvis who came forward to accept the award on Laya’s Behalf – the crowd heard that Laya was home with family

Laya got very considerable supprt including from Alan Jones who encouraged  his listeners to vote for Laya

This award follows the recognition from the  AJN as the  Jewish Mother of the year,  and the Vaucluse woman of the year award
