At Melbourne’s Bialik College, becoming Bnei Mitzvah does not mean the end of a process of learning and engagement, but rather one step on a life-long journey.

At the Opp Shop

bialik-1At the end of Term 3, all Year 7 students participated in the Bnei Mitzvah ceremonies. During Term 4, the journey continues, with students being encouraged to engage in Tikkun Olam (Repair of the World) activities. Students heard from three inspiring people who volunteer to make a difference: Grace Slonim (Access Inc), Deb Braitberg (Relay for Life, overseas aid work) and Year 12 student Joel Kuperholz (MUJU Peace Club, youth harmony).

Students began the first of the ‘Tikkun Olam’ rotations, which involves visits to Jewish Care’s Munzer Aged Home, the Posh Opp Shoppe and engaging in environmental causes through the JNF.
